About Trina

Trina jokingly says she plays “second fiddle in the orchestra of life.”  Her motivational speaking campaign began in the 6th grade when she mesmerized the other kids by talking fluently about the history of the jump rope.  Several years later, she competed in a Toastmasters humorous speech contest and was solidly hooked on comedy.   

Trina’s unique brand of humor shows in her smart style and keen wit about the absurdity of real-life.  Clients have said that Trina is a “natural fit” and they “would not hesitate to have her back again.”  World champion speakers have called her a “very talented performer,” and say her timing is “excellent”, her presentation skills “impeccable”. 

She developed an innovative communication technique—The SHINE System --that blends technology with human-touch to help workers in the multi-generational workforce communicate with one another.  “We are all naturally funny, we just have to recognize our comedy style, and use that where it is appropriate.”  Trina’s workshops and keynotes provide an antidote to anxiety, letting you laugh through the lean times, while lowering your stress levels.   

 Trina’s educational workshops reveal how humor can be utilized in business, leadership, literacy education, classroom environments--and also how women can utilize their natural style of humor to succeed in the workplace.  Some of Trina’s jokes have been featured in Squeaky Clean Comedy, and she was part of the Guinness Book of World Records Longest Running Comedy Show. Her corporate clients include The U.S. Air Force and Harvard University Graduate School of Education.

She graduated from Clarion University of Pennsylvania, a fine but little-known institution that produced Olympic gold medalist and WWE star Kurt Angle (He asked her if he could borrow a pencil from her during psychology class; she is still waiting to get it back).  She earned an M.A. from Indiana University  of Pennsylvania, and is currently a doctoral candidate at Penn State in Adult and Workforce Education.
