Honky Tonk Woman
Join us tonight for the Honky Tonk Comedy Variety show in Oil City, PA. This will be my debut in live theater. This time I will be pretending to do things in front of a live audience instead of a television camera. Our outstanding cast represents to me the way humor operates. We are people who range in ages from 7 to 70’s. So, what keeps us doing the long rehearsals, the repetition of lines, the whole song and dance? In a few words, COMEDY:
C: We have a shared sense of community.
O: We have one goal and that is what directs our attitudes and our actions.
M: We have mutual respect for each other, despite our differences.
E: We enjoy the experience of meeting new friends, testing our talents.
D: We are doing what is outside our comfort zone.
Y: We are saying yes to others’ ideas and imagination.
